I’m fully prepared for every friend I have who is a parent to hate me, but I found “Boyhood” tedious as hell. It’s a brilliant accomplishment, no doubt, done with loving care and skill. The performances are fine, I guess, though all the minor adult characters are SO one-dimensional. But, to me? The whole was much less than the sum of its parts. That said, if you’re a parent, you’ll love it. If you’re a burgeoning parent, you’ll need it. Otherwise, sorry, snoresville. Watch “Parenthood” on Hulu or “Friday Night Lights” on Netflix instead.
Okay, fire away…tell me why I’m wrong.
