Directed by David O. Russell
I LOVED “American Hustle”. It was crisp, well-written and the acting was just impeccable. As you’d expect, Bale, Adams, and Cooper are incredible – subtle and epically of that period in NYC…and Jeniffer Lawrence could not be easier to watch. But the surprise is how good Jeremy Renner is in this film. He hasn’t been good in a film since…well…since “Hurt Locker.” Russell actually makes you feel sympathy for the grifters, and that’s precisely where Russell’s homage to Scorsese outdoes Scorsese’s Christmas offering. Don’t miss it.
