Facebook asks…no…requires that we respond to certain requests…in this instance it went something like this:
“The rules: Don’t take too long to think about it. Fifteen films you’ve seen that will always stick with you. List the first fifteen you can recall in no more than fifteen minutes. Tag fifteen friends, including me, because I’m interested in seeing what films my friends choose (and because I need to broaden my viewing horizons…)”
Here’s mine (linked to their official trailers – except “Fire Sale” – good luck finding that):
1. Sympathy For Lady Vengeance (South Korea)
2. Miller’s Crossing
3. Hudsucker Proxy
4. Manhattan
5. Once Upon A Time In America
6. Duck, You Sucker (A Fistful of Dynamite)
7. Annie Hall
8. Taking Of Pelham One Two Three (1974)
9. Fire Sale
10. Historias Extraordinarias (Ridiculously good – and impossible to find – four hour Argentinian epic/comedy)
11. Stalingrad (Germany, 1993)
12. Das Boot (Germany)
13. The Lives of Others (Germany – Best Foreign Film, 2007)
14. The Door (Russian short – Oscar Nom, 2008 – links to full film)
15. Runaway Train
